timeleft.jpg (2444 bytes) Narrow your search by selecting how much time is left on the auction you are looking for.  This allows you to only view auctions that are near closing.  This is a great way to find bargains.

checkevery.jpg (4236 bytes)Clicking this button will hide the program in the system tray and will automatically search eBay every so many minutes or hours.  Synchronize this setting with the setting above to catch the auctions you are looking for.  For example.  The settings above will display only auctions with 1 hour left and it will check eBay every 30 minutes.  The program will silently do its work while you go on working on your computer.  An icon that looks like this icon.jpg (1012 bytes)will appear in your system tray.   To open the program when it is in the system tray just right-click on the icon.  A menu will appear and you can select open or exit.   When the program is waiting between checks it will scroll a red line across the icon that looks like this iconr.jpg (1040 bytes).  If you don't see the scrolling icon it means the program has halted.  You will need to open it and start it again.

start.jpg (1756 bytes)Click this button to do one search of eBay.  You can view the progress of the search in the status bar and the program does not hide itself like the setting above.

noresearve.jpg (2384 bytes)Checking this box will accomplish 2 things.  It will take the entire list of auctions that it has found and will read each one of them just enough to determine if the auction has met its reserve price.  It will also update the price of the auction.  So the price that is displayed is the actual price of the auction.  This is a great feature.  Their is one drawback with this.  It takes a little longer to display the results because the program has to read every item in the list.

setcat.jpg (4516 bytes)Clicking this button will bring up the categories dialog box.

Here you can narrow your search by clicking the category you want the search to be under.  There are 4 windows.  You start on the window on your left.   As you click on a word more options will become available in the next window over.   You can narrow your search more by clicking on a word in that window.  You don't have to.  The more words that are highlighted in blue the narrower your search will become.  For example.

You can click on Dolls, Figures and then click OK.  In doing this you will search all Dolls & figures.

You can click on Dolls, Figures and in the second window click on Barbie then click OK.  In doing this you will include all Barbie dolls that are in General, Accessories, and Vintage Accessories.

You can click on Dolls, Figures and in the second window click on Barbie then in the third window click on Vintage Accessories.  In doing this you will include Barbie dolls that are in the Vintage Accessories category only.

The point is you have a lot of flexibility.  You can click on as little or as many categories as you like.

settings.jpg (27472 bytes) Start Program on Start-up: Check this box if you want the program to start up as soon as you turn the computer on.  The program will immediately start up in the system tray and will start searching with the same criteria that was used in the program that last time you ran it.

Sound an alarm if a match is found: Check this box if you want the program to sound an alarm when a match is found.

Use modem connection if not connected: Click this box to have the program dial the connection if you are not already connected to the internet when you start the program.  You can use this feature along with the auto search feature to have the program check eBay every so many minutes or hours.  If the program makes the internet connection it will terminate it after checking eBay.

clears.jpg (2164 bytes) Every time you search for a new product the last search words are remembered.  The list will grow to 20.  Click this button to clear the list.

This is a work in progress more to come.
